Two days away from the first event of the year. Some of the team is staying in the dorm at Hope College but looks like not having AC will not be an issue. Last weekend I rode Saturday and Sunday with team members and then did a shorter, hilly ride Monday too. 102 miles over the 3 days.
I am gonna do at least the 75 mile routes both days and may take on the 100 mile route on Saturday. Our team is ready and we’ll check in Friday late afternoon and then have some carb loading dinner together. We’ll hit the road Sat and Sunday at 7:00. The weather looks good with only a little rain Sunday afternoon, but temps in the 60 and 70s. Think the smoke from the Canadian wildfires will be better this weekend too.
We are getting amped up and ready to take on this challenge to put a dent in MS. Thank you to all whom have supported me this year, and past years. Your donations really do make a difference for those affected by this difficult disease. I learn more and more from our team captain Tanya about what she deals with daily with her MS. She is an inspiration for us all!
Our team is currently very close to maybe winning the coveted wooden shoes for the highest fundraising as of Saturday morning. If you are planning on donating this year, there is still time before the August event weekend too, but if you donate now Tanya might be able to keep this Holland, MI Dutch themed award for another year! We won them last year during our inaugural showing at this West MI ride after they stopped doing the Mid-Mich one in Julys. Can you help us reach the goal of #1 team, up against GM, Ford and Dow?? I’ll update the blog over the weekend more. — Below are some photos from last weekend’s training.
Thank you as always!
